Hillcrest Platte County

History

Since opening our doors in 2002, Hillcrest Platte County has grown from two fourplexes serving working families into a comprehensive housing and support network across Platte County. We expanded our transitional housing campuses in both the north and south ends of the county, opened multiple thrift stores to create sustainable funding, and launched key programs like the Blessings Eviction Prevention Program, which has prevented more than 800 evictions, and the Young Adult Housing & Education Program, which has served over 161 young adults.

In recent years, we strengthened our wraparound model by adding licensed mental health services and establishing the Hunter L. Burch Counseling Center. What began as a small, faith-based effort to help the working homeless has grown into a multi-program organization offering housing, life-skills coaching, financial education, counseling, and future-focused initiatives like graduate aftercare and affordable housing expansion, all designed to move families from crisis to long-term stability.
