The Parkville 2040 Master Plan is the result of a 15-month collaborative effort between the City of Parkville, Confluence—the consulting firm chosen to lead the update—and a dedicated steering committee composed of members of the Planning and Zoning Commission. This initiative aimed to update the city’s 2009 Master Plan and ensure a strategic vision for Parkville’s future growth and development.
The planning process involved extensive community engagement, including seven steering committee meetings, one-on-one discussions with over 20 key stakeholders, and three public workshops. To encourage broader participation, a custom project webpage was developed, featuring interactive tools such as mapping activities, visual preference surveys, and feedback exercises on guiding principles and general themes. Residents also contributed through a unique postcard exercise, providing valuable insights that shaped the plan’s direction.
By incorporating input from local leaders, businesses, and residents, the Parkville 2040 Master Plan reflects a shared vision for sustainable development and community enhancement. This forward-thinking plan will serve as a roadmap for future policies, infrastructure improvements, and economic initiatives that support Parkville’s long-term success.
